I waited patiently for the LORD; And He inclined to me, And heard my cry. He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, Out of the miry clay, And set my feet upon a rock, And established my steps. He has put a new song in my mouth-- Praise to our God; Many will see it and fear, And will trust in the LORD. Blessed is that man who makes the LORD his trust, And does not respect the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies. (Psa 40:1-4 NKJ)
First, the blog is about the Lord, my God, who has done marvelous things for me. He has rescued me from many pits, some laid for me by enemies and some laid for me by my own doing. He plucked me out of my sinful condition, from which there was no escape, and He established my steps and leads my life.
For this reason, it is also about the path upon which He has led me, the understanding which He has taught me through His Word and His servants, and the expectation of that which He has promised in His Son. It is a piece of the soundtrack of my life (another piece, of course, is Sermons in Song).
It is interesting to note that this new song ("Shir Khadash" is a transliteration of the Hebrew here) is a song that you can see, not only a song that you can hear. It is a song that is sung only after the life has been changed to match its lyric and notes. Click HERE for a live performance of our song based upon this Psalm.
I hope that the reader might read and see the evidence of a life touched by God, through His Son Jesus Christ. It is my hope that the Word of God might be made clear through these writings and every aspect of our ministry, and it is my desire that many will come to know the Lord God of Psalm 40, to fear Him, to trust Him, and so to find the blessed state of those who trust Him. Then you can join me in singing the New Song of the Redeemed.
